Calling all homeschool parents and children! Looking for a creative learning opportunity? Love animals and conservation? Visit the Lehigh Valley Zoo during Homeschool Thursdays in March (3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27) for your student to participate in the special educational experience our educators present to school groups throughout the year. Discover wildlife like never before with a Zoo Tour where visitors and students learn about the adaptations, habitats, behaviors, and conservation statuses of resident animals. This professionally-guided tour with an education staff member will be available from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and limited to the first 60 reservations for each date. Want an up-close animal experience? Sign up for our Animal Kingdom (AK) presentation designed to give students an up-close encounter with zoo educational animals and learn about their adaptations, behaviors, and the differences between. The AK presentation is scheduled for 1-2 p.m. and is limited to the first 70 reservations for each date. Tickets to either activity include daytime zoo and must be purchased in advance — so make sure to reserve your spot(s) today!
Both of these engaging multi-sensory experiences incorporate Common Core Standards, Pennsylvania Assessment Anchors and Eligible Content, and science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM).
