Include Lehigh Valley Zoo in your next scouting experience! The Zoo offers scouts a variety of workshops to meet their badge requirements, while also offering scouts the opportunity to learn about the Zoo and our unique animal collection. Each workshop promises hands-on fun and learning with interactive activities, animal encounters, and admission to the Zoo.
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE MERIT BADGE
9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
$50 per participant, includes all four dates and zoo admission

**BLUE MERIT BADGE APPLICATION CARDS ARE NOT PROVIDED
Explore the zoo and surrounding areas, participate in activities at the zoo and independent homework assignments to complete the Environmental Science Merit Badge. During this program the scouts will meet some of our education animals as well as tour the zoo and perform experiments to learn about different environmental concerns. Course adheres to BSA requirements.
ECO-EXPLORE PROGRAM
Scouts will participate in activities to work towards their EcoLearner, EcoFriend, and Journey: Outdoor Badge. The scouts will experience a fun filled nature hike to learn different ways to protect nature and wildlife. Educators will help scouts work on their Take Action Plan for their Journey: Outdoor Badge. The girls will identify a problem and write up their team plan to help overcome it. This program also gives scouts an opportunity to meet some of our education animals up close!
$500 per program – up to 30 participants (adults and students)
THINK LIKE A CITIZEN SCIENTIST
Scouts will participate in activities to work towards their Journey: Think Like a Citizen Scientist Badge. The scouts will be making observations, collecting data, and working with the Lehigh Valley Zoo in a current Citizen Science project with our education department. Scouts will take a nature hike on the local nature preserve to help scientists collect data on forest biodiversity. This program gives scouts the opportunity to meet some of our education animals up close!
$500 per program – up to 30 participants (adults and students)
